Matiangai Sirleaf came to NNE NEE with a body of work that was already vast, brilliant, and critically necessary but needed bold presence.

As an international scholar, author, and human rights advocate with over forty publications, her voice travels across continents, disciplines, and communities. What she needed was not just a website, but a digital home expansive enough to hold the full range of her intellectual life — a space that could carry scholarship, public engagement, and personal expression without flattening any part of her or her work.

Our work began by honoring Matiangai as a public scholar whose ideas live both inside and beyond institutions. The goal was to design a brand and website that felt vibrant, knowledgeable, and accessible — one that reflected the depth of her research while inviting broader audiences into conversation. Together, we shaped a visual language that balanced clarity with richness, allowing visitors to move easily through her publications, speaking engagements, teaching, and advocacy work while still feeling Matiangai's presence on every page.

Visually, the design drew deeply from Matiangai’s Liberian heritage and her love of color, pattern, and texture. We developed a flexible brand identity system including logo variations, a dynamic color palette, business cards, a Youtube channel, and social media graphics that could travel with her across platforms and contexts. The website became a living archive — layered, expressive, and intuitive — designed to grow alongside her evolving work and global engagements.

What emerged is a digital presence that mirrors Matiangai’s intellectual vitality and cultural grounding. The site does not simply catalog accomplishments; it situates them within a broader story of movement, inquiry, and care. It offers an experience that feels as voluminous as her scholarship itself — rooted, resonant, and robust.
